Don’t remain slave to senses

The devotee does not remain subservient to any nonessential habit.
you cannot live without eating otherwise we cannot avoid eating. but we only eat krishna prasadam. we eat food offered to krishna. we don’t eat other things. we don’t remain slave to any unnecessary.. we need to sleep so we sleep to rest so we can do more service for Krishna. but these other unnecessary habits these are avoided because they make us artificially subservient to the senses instead of being servant to Krishna.

Stay away from the dogmatist

Stay away from the dogmatist

Lord Jesus once said, “You give me some hot water, you give me some cold water, but luke warm water I spit out.” You give me some one who opposes, if they are sincerely opposing, then we can discuss, we can come to a proper conclusion, or you give someone who is actually convinced than enthusiastic. You get someone who is totally…doesn’t have any kind of opinion, or just trying to avoid the considering the whole thing, or they know that they are wrong but they just trying to maintain that vision due to some kind of dogmatism, those people are totally useless for actually achieving a better world or a unified world.

The intelligent hypocrites

SrilaPrabhupada said that we have, simultaneously want to preach to the intelligentsia, to the scientist, to the philosophers, to the phd’s and so on because if they are convinced, so many others would be convinced, and simultaneously, we want to also, we have our grass root program, where you want all the people in every town and village to take up the chanting everywhere, because in many cases some of the so called intellectuals may not be sincere, they may be hypocrites. So even though you may honestly tell them something, if they themselves aren’t sincere the how can you convince them?, and it is said, “You can wake up a person who is asleep, but you cannot wake up someone who is awake pretending he is asleep.”

|TH£ Incorrect Intelligence|

human intelligence has a limit, it can always fail, big multinational corporations, they make big computer programs, they put… one was recently put out, then after putting it out for two weeks they have to take it back, bugs, not the ones that crawl out… had so many years and they dint foresee, this is the material situation, that our intelligence, no matter how developed it is, just like Hiranyakasipu, he had tried to figure everything out but it never comes up to the intelligence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, because our intelligence is the part of fraction of His intelligence.

So the fraction can never equal the whole, by definition the fraction has to be less than the whole. So by definition we are, we are just the spark, a part of Krishna, therefore we can never equal the whole, but if we are in surrendered to Him, if we are in complete harmony with Him then we can get the unlimited potency coming through us, but if we try to compete with Krishna off course we will lose. So in this material world people are trying to compete with Krishna’s external energy and they are getting defeated, what to speak of those who want to directly compete with Krishna, their situation is very precarious.

Nothing is missing

Material viewpoint is something altogether different. There, one is conscious of the bodily needs. One is conscious of the mental needs. One is conscious of everything except serving Krishna. Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura said that in this material world, there’s nothing missing. Everything is there for our sense gratification, you see, but the real thing that’s missing is service to Krishna. So, when people are conscious that, “Yes, I should serve Krishna.”, if you say serve Krishna, the atheists will say, “Why serve Krishna? Who is Krishna? How do I know there’s Krishna? Why should I serve Krishna? What will I get out of servin…” There’s so many questions they’ll bring up because they don’t have any understanding of who they are. They have no understanding who is Krishna. They have no consciousness about the importance and the necessity of serving Krishna. That’s why they’re rascals, you see. That’s why they’re most unfortunate.

Microscope VS Scriptures

The material scientists have not discovered with their microscopes means that you can’t accept it. This is a great plot by the materialists, that, now the only authorized State Religion is Scientific Mental Speculation. It’s a very big plot by big demons how they have put science which is completely speculative and based on so many dogmas, that you can raise… that you can base your whole economic, social, cultural, everything on that, national. But then if something is said in the scripture, that’s against the law. You can’t bring that up.

How to overcome attachment, fear and anger?

Attachment, fear and anger, how to overcome? There is a verse of this in the Bhagavad Gita and some advice is given there. But in a nutshell, we want to dovetail everything with Krishna consciousness. Instead of being attached to the material world, we are more attached to Krishna and His service. Instead of being angry, because our ego is being pinched or because someone is not giving us the sense gratification we want, or because someone is criticizing us unnecessarily, unconstructively, then if we get angry that is material. But if someone offends a devotee or Krishna, if we get angry that is Krishna conscious. So anger, we try to use it for the right reason, and anger for the wrong reason, we renounce. And since Krishna promises He will protect His devotees, name bhakta pranashyati – My devotee will never be destroyed. So why should we have any fear? Fear is the part of the material world, and fear means that we take it as a caution. But we don’t actually fear absolutely because we depend on the mercy and protection of Krishna. But if He tells us in our mind, that going to this place is dangerous now, we take that also as a warning by Krishna. Just like now, I saw the news that in Louisiana some people were killed in Baton Rouge. So if you live on the border of Louisiana., she does, she lives in New Talavan, she lives on the border of Louisiana, in Mississippi, in Picayune, if Krishna warns that you should not go to Baton Rouge, it is maybe because people are shooting there.

Who is a real vaishnava?

A Vaishnava can tolerate all types of offences to himself but he cannot tolerate offences to the Lord or to other Vaishnavas.

Best Method to get rid of False Ego

Question: I was just wondering, what is the best method to get rid of false ego? And how do you distinguish between what is our real ego and false ego? Could you tell?

Guru Maharaj: False ego has us identify, I am the body. This is me. I am skinny or fat, I am white or black, sometimes someone says your nose is too big. Oh no, I have been offended. Oh nooooo… You have a pimple on your nose. Oh no… I curse you! So we should not have these false identifications with the body, not I body. So the body sometimes is young, sometimes get old, and then it dies. We then take a new life. So false ego means, we think we are the body. In real ego we understand our eternal relationship is with Krishna. jivera swarup hoi nitya Krishner das.
