Act As An Instrument

Although I am most insignificant, most fallen but somehow by guru and gauranga mercy I was able to act as an instrument, and Kṛṣṇa’s mercy could pass through me and these conditioned souls could take Kṛṣṇa’s mercy in the form of transcendental literature.” Or, if the distribution didn’t go so well, “Oh, how I’m not surrendered, how because I’m so fallen I am not able to act as an instrument. I should surrender more. I should become more determined in my devotional service.” Everything that happens, we can go either way. We can go Māyā’s way, or we can go Kṛṣṇa’s way.

Tests at every step

*
Lord Kṛṣṇa tests at different stages. Devotees … they’re compelled to surrender, more and more. And become more fixed in devotional service. Depend on Kṛṣṇa more. Totally. It’s like a refining process.

The spiritual spark

One is able to have the machine working and body is even the liver is taken out putting in the liver transplant , heart transplant , kidney transplant , still the things are going but something happens to it doesn’t work anymore things start to the brain wave stop moving , so far they don’t have machine to make the brain go even when a brain stop because the soul leaves the body , the soul leaves no matter you can’t keep the body alive ,you can keep away from decomposing microbes for sometime but it is not complete , you turned the machine off it is dead mini (not getting) just the machine is keeping things work , modern science doesn’t have the explaination because the soul is described in the Vedas as being a Chit-kana a spiritual spark.

*An Appropriate Anger*

Even in transcendental activities sometimes the low grade mentality of tamisra continues , as tamisra is the envy or anger sometime you find a devotee become very angry why does senior devotee not giving me my position ,why senior devotee not feels wider at them ,why shoul they become they remain angry so this is the condition of ignorance which is not appropriate for a devotee to be angry in this way , we are only angry when Krishna is offended ,when guru is offended ,we don’t become angry for all these material things sometime the devotee showing this anger is not appropriate for transcendental life ,it is a type of immaturity in spiritual life so we should apply this anger in the devotional service.

The spiritual peace

The devotees purpose is to save the people from this five types of ignorance , to free them from ignorance so they can achieve their real spiritual peace and happiness, a person is in ignorance how can he be peaceful , if there is no peace how is there happiness, specially human beings because human has more intelligence if you are an aniomal you are so much in ignorance you don’t even think about it but being a human being you know that there is death , you know that there is a future what the future holds being a human being you have the opportunity to solve this ignorance , so why should one act like an animal , so when we preach to people the idea is that to wake them up from ignorance so they can achieve their real happiness they can know who they are ?

THE SANCTION OF KRISHNA*

When one’s a pure devotee who is surrendered to Kṛṣṇa, then Krsna directly controls everything personally with that devotee. If one is not cent percent pure , upto whatever extent he’s not pure and still has different desires , different attachments, different material conditionings, he is subject to the laws of karma , and he has to suffer a certain degree of reaction. Krsna reduces that suffering( makes it a token), he may organise what comes before or after , but the suffering that one endures is really due to his own previous karma , however it reduced might be . So it has the sanction of Kṛṣṇa. Nothing happens without the sanction of Kṛṣṇa.

Go Beyond The Material World*

*
The process of mystic yoga, ultimately you can get to one point, but then you can’t get beyond it. If you want to go beyond that, ultimately you have to surrender to Kṛṣṇa. Then you can actually be totally transcendental. With mystic powers you have the ability to manipulate the material world by your own psychic spiritual potency, but to actually go beyond the material world, you have to become a pure devotee.

The satisfied sages*

The soul can be satisfied by Kṛṣṇa, because we are part of Krsna. So spiritually, as an eternal living entity, eternal soul, through the process of Krsna conscious bhakti yoga through meditation, through devotional service, through chanting , we can be satisfied. In the past, so many great sages, so many great devotees, all became satisfied.

*We can be satisfied by Krsna*

one through higher intelligence understands, “Ultimately, I am never gonna be satisfied simply by this body,” one can decide, “Therefore let me realise the real spiritual satisfaction.” That is that we can be satisfied spiritually, because Krsna is much greater than us souls. We can be satisfied by Krsna. But the mind can never be satisfied by this body; nor can the mind satisfy the soul. But the soul can be satisfied by Kṛṣṇa, because we are part of Krsna.

Spiritually satisfied

*

We have desires as big as the ocean, but the mind and senses are like small bottles. So you cannot fill the ocean of desire into a small bottle. This is because the senses are limited. The mind is bigger than the senses, but the spirit is even greater than the mind. So if we are spiritually satisfied, the mind and senses are automatically satisfied, but how can the senses gratify ultimately, the mind ? The mind has a much bigger desire. Just like we say that someone’s eyes are bigger than the stomach .

The Grand purpose of life

The difference is that the human being can understand what is the purpose of life. But if you go to a normal human being in the material world who’s conditioned, and say, “What is the purpose of life? they don’t have the slightest idea. Make money? Be happy? wander around? listen to music? Die? They don’t have any clear idea. What is the overall scheme ? what is the grand purpose to life? Have we come with any higher purpose ? They don’t know. But a human being has the intelligence to know that there is the purpose to life– we can be freed from the laws of the material world. We can realize the Supreme Personality Godhead. We can go back to the spiritual world in this life time. It is the real purpose of human life.

Don’t give up the spiritual principles

what we have is sufficient. If we get more , we work and we get more(automatically), without sacrificing our spiritual life, that’s all right. Everyone has a particular destiny. Someone may be wealthy or someone may not be. But by giving an honest day’s work whatever the return is, one should be satisfied with that. That is the brahminical system. Not to sacrifice one’s spiritual principles in order to just accumulate more and more. One’s never gonna be satisfied, anyway.

Pain Free Spritual world

Where there is no separation between time and space. There’s immediate connection between everything. The soul is directly perceiving, but it has a form in order to act. But there, there’s no suffering, there’s no birth; there’s no death. But in the material world, that soul-form, becomes dormant and put back into a “spark” form, seed. And in the body, there’s a small seed. So when that … like a little star … a little light … But in the body … the body is going through these changes. It’s feeling that it’s going to be destroyed. So one feels the pain of birth, the pain of old age, disease and death, and then again re-birth. But this pain cannot exist in the spiritual world.

The Lord’s Abode

**

The Lord is the full-fledged form of eternity, bliss and knowledge, but the formless brahmajyoti is simply eternity and knowledge. The Vaikuṇṭha planets are also forms of eternity, bliss and knowledge, and therefore the devotees of the Lord, who are admitted into the abode of the Lord, also get bodies of eternity, bliss and knowledge. As such there is no difference between one and another. The Lord’s abode, name, fame, entourage, etc., are of the same transcendental quality.

*The Eternal Spiritual World*

In the material world the form and action is all under the time factor. Therefore, everything has a past, present and a future. So everything has a beginning and an end. But the time factor doesn’t exist in the spiritual world. There everything is perpetually existing, eternally. To create the material world, Kṛṣṇa has created an energy known as Time. Time does not exist as we know it in the spiritual world. Things go on there. It’s not this is the beginning. Everything always existed.

*The fourth dimension*

Bhagavan is something categorically different. So for someone who is too attached to the impersonal, they may have to go a very gradual understanding and first understand the greatness of God and then gradually come into understanding His personal feature. And someone who is more open minded, more intelligent, they can immediately see that this material world is a reflection of the spiritual world. Reflection is two dimensional, the original object is three, the material world is three dimensional, and the spiritual world is the fourth dimension. In the fourth dimension these inebrieties don’t stand. So the same problems we find here with form and shape, there we don’t have those difficulties because there form and shape are also not limited to size, it goes beyond that.

Don’t be detached artificially

one time Prabhupad was describing things about the danger of attachment and things like that. So then he asked one parent, how do you feel about your daughter? And they said well, I am trying to be detached. Prabhupad said no, this is the way. You love your daughter, you love your child; don’t artificially try to be detached. It is natural to love your child. You love your child but then you love Krishna more and say let me try to make this child a person, that the person is materially qualified as well as becomes also a lover of Krishna.

Back to God head

Srila Prabhupad said you have to be one or the other, either you are life member or you are a devotee. Not that you are both. If you are a life member then that is one thing, you get formal respect but if you are a devotee then we don’t consider like that, all devotees have the same right to go back to Godhead if they remain fixed in their Krishna consciousness.

The Real Renunciation

Someone may be the most renounced but in their mind if they are still having attachment to being respected or to getting followers or to other things for material purpose just like laabh, puja prathisthani, they want to be important, or if they want some kind of profit from what they are doing, they are also contaminated. But if somebody feels detached even in their family life situation, they feel detached that there are so many difficulties in the sansar life but I am trying to everything so ultimately Krishna will be pleased.

The Synthesis of knowledge & devotion

We should actually be open minded and not try to show off to others but rather try to communicate and understand. When you have truth you have knowledge and you combine it with devotion and surrender it becomes beautiful . But if you just have knowledge and you kind of just combine it with pride and other material things then it becomes almost distasteful . Nobody likes to you know a real proud pandit type person. But when you combine knowledge with devotion then it becomes something beautiful because knowledge in relation with the Absolute Truth in relation to serving is something very wonderful because that service becomes very auspicious.
