The Devotional creepers grows & grows

one gets the special mercy of guru and Krishna: guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija, by that mercy, then it’s possible to actually return back to home, back to Godhead, to ultimately get the mercy of Krishna. One simply waters the devotional creeper, and the devotional creeper grows and grows and grows until finally, it breaks through the material world, goes into the brahmajyoti, breaks through the brahmajyoti and goes to the Vaikuntha lokas, goes beyond the Vaikuntha lokas, to the spiritual abode of Krishna.

Everybody wants Happiness.

Sukadeva Goswami was a Brahman realized and he… when he started hearing about Krishna, he forget everything and became a Krishna devotee. What happiness people have in this world? Everybody wants happiness. When they start to taste even a drop of that ecstasy by the mercy of Nitai-Gaura, doesn’t matter what they were, what they thought. They forget about everything. They become mad like all of us, just to get a little bit of a taste of Krishna consciousness.

Question: What can be the reason for not having success in Bhakti Vrksa preaching in spite of trying?

Guru maharaj: Well we are going to come out with a series of videos, from the most experienced and expert bhakti vrksa preachers. So this should be an inspiration. Sometimes people don’t actually do bhakti vrksa, but they call it bhakti vrksa. I don’t know, if what you are doing is exactly according to the book, bhakti vrksa. Some people come, but then the next week, they don’t come. So it doesn’t hurt for you to call them up and ask, are you alright? You missed coming today so I was wondering if you are sick or something. Even if they are not sick, the fact that you expressed care for them, interest in them, may make them feel more obliged to come the next week. During the bhakti vrksa meetings, some people are not interested in being so active. They would rather sit down and just listen. So the younger people, the more active people, they like the interactive nature of the bhakti vrksa. But some people, they are not so inclined. So I don’t know if you are preaching to the right people. So if you have the people participate, if they also speak up during the bhakti vrksa discussion, then they just may like it, and come back for more.

A good effect

“We need some brahminical minded grihasthas also to do some seva to help the society to be more spiritualized. You may do like a full time activities or you may work outside, maintain your family, but do Bhakti Vriksha, do some house programs. That has also a good effect – people see that like me he is married, he is working but he is peaceful and happy. He is chanting the Holy Names of Krishna, so why don’t we also chant, husband and wife together.”
