The best – bhakti yoga

In the Bhagavad-gītā, three principal subjects have been explained by Lord Śri Kṛṣṇa, namely karma-yoga, jñana-yoga and bhakti-yoga, but one can reach the Vaikuṇṭha planets by the practice of bhakti-yoga only. The other two are incompetent in helping one reach the Vaikuṇṭhalokas, although they can, however, conveniently take one to the effulgent brahmajyoti.
But one can reach the Vaikuṇṭha planets by the practice of bhakti-yoga only.

Recommendation of the Bhagavad Gita.

Point is that in the Bhagavad Gita it is said that we should avoid fear, anger and illusion as obstacles in devotional service. If someone heard about the spiritual world as having persons we become fearful that in this world I am having so much trouble relating with people, if I go to the spiritual world I will have the same problem so I would rather just merge or something else, that is fear or anger because someone tries different spiritual processes and then finds that maybe some guru is not true or somebody has some defect or something wrong and so they get angry that nothing is real, nothing is true, I give it all up, I am just going to stay here in illusion. So this illusion and anger and fear, this has to be given up.

The unscientific truth

The unscientific truth

If a person, he may be a favorable, may be you know, not envious of Krishna, he is maybe just addicted to certain kind of pleasures in a material platform, and if they are willing to hear Krishna conscious if they are favorable to it then generally people who are just very attached to sense gratification, lot of time they become envious of Krishna, lot of time… they don’t want to hear. I don’t know the statistics on that. We got someone could do something, I won’t like to sit on the Vyasasan and make some kind of absolute statement.

The Perfect implementation of Bhagavat Gita

Perfect implementation of Bhagavat Gita

Krishna comes and He just very authoritatively, being the supreme authority, He gets what is the absolute version. So like everyone accepts Bhagavat Gita, whether they are Sankaracharya , where all the Indian great sages , phiosophers, they all accept Bhagavat Gita as the absolute authority . And now of course in a…. despite thousand years, there are many interpretations of the Bhagavat Gita, even in English there is something like 400 different translations. So therefore, CaitanyaMahaprabhu, Krishna came as Lord Caitanya, that already enough of talk because everybody is giving their… but He practically showed . This is what the perfect *implementation of the *essence of Bhagavat* Gita* is. So actions speak louder than the words. So we can follow.

what is your source for hearing bhagavat Gita?

Why Krishna is coming like this. You have to know by studying the Bhagavad Gita, by studying the Srimad Bhagavatam, the Vedas, what is the nature of Krishna’s appearance. If you just hear it in the tea stall or you’re hearing this conversations from different pundits who haven’t gone deeply into the, through the proper. You see the main thing is to hear the glory of Krishna from the proper source. What is your source? Where are you getting your information? If you hear from the proper source, then these confusions do not stay there. This is the whole point here in the conclusion.

The given shelter

first we have to know, who is Visnu, how is Visnu expanding, then we come to understand that who is the original form of Visnu, that same Krishna is Visnu. That Visnu is unlimited, He is the original person, that He is beyond death, He is immortal, He is beyond karma. Being beyond karma, this is so important. Everything we do has a karma. How do we get rid of the karmas? Even if you do pap, or you do punya, it doesn’t counteract each other. When you serve the Lord, because He is beyond the karma’s, that means the karmas go to Him. So He absorbs that karma, and one is then free. So one has to know the science of action, that by….this is explained in Gita that one should know what is karma, what is vikarma, what is akarma. When you serving the Lord in Bhakti, it is akarma, there is no reaction for that. So when the devotee is serving the Lord then he is given the shelter, then he also becomes fearless. Bhajure mana sri nanda nandana abhaya carana ravindra re This abhaya caranarabindra, one who gets fearlessness by taking the shelter of the lotus feet of Sri Nanda Nandana Krishna.

The universal science of God Consciousness

Srila Prabhupad explains why Indian culture has fallen down from its uh… used to be richest culture in the world. Actually Christopher Columbus is was only looking for short trade to India when he trembled across the America because India was were all the gold, spices, fine cloth, silk everything that was uh, valuable was the coming from India. Than why later day India has the fallen down, a secret here is given that because they choked up… because they choked up the Bhagavad-gita. Actually there were some leaders in India the brahmanas, they said that if any Indian went across the ocean they’d lose their Hindu dharma whatever you want to call it. They’d lose their religion.

That somehow the religion would vanquished simply by crossing over a body of water, and up to the time of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura people believe that. Ramakrishna’s disciple Vivekananda was practically first Indian to ever leave India and this type of mythology or type of superstition they have preached and as a result no one would preach abroad, and no one preach to the non-Hindus to the people who weren’t born.

So although the Bhagavad-gita is not a sectarian science. It’s a universal science of God Consciousness self-realization post graduate course for all religions and cultures, but due to some very bigoted, limited view this was never spread before to the other countries, to the other parts of the world. Lord Caitanya He came and said

pṛthivīte āche yata nagarādi grāma

sarvatra pracāra haibe mora nāma

That in every down and village throughout the whole world, My message is going to be spread, going to be sung. So actually, bha… Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu he started this sankirtana movement. Now someone might say “Well lord Caitanya started this sankirtana movement in India, but then how can we understand that why didn’t He spread it throughout the whole world, how can we understand that He is actually Krishna?” So many questions may come up.

The fallible soldiers

In the battlefield of Kuruksetra, there were two cousin-brothers fighting, namely Arjuna and Duryodhana. Now, the difference is that although Arjuna and Duryodhana were both fighting Arjuna knew his relationship with Krishna. He was was fighting after hearing Bhagavad-gita, in the consciousness that this is simply an offering to the Lord. Even though the barriers… even though the, barriers for, raising… even though they are both fighting, but one, because that person Arjuna was in consciousness of Krishna, one achieved eternal life, was victorious, and was elevated as the greatest of all devotees, while the other for all his hard work and battles, simply achieved a change of body, simply achieved his death. This is the nature of the material world. The person, he may surround himself with his relatives, or may surround himself with so many type of protection, may think that he’s very wise and very expert in terms of his material knowledge, his material, acquisitions, but in spite of all those soldiers, they’re all fallible soldiers. They’re all fallible soldiers and ultimately, that person simply achieves death in spite of all these fallible soldiers.

Bhagavat Gita – not a sectarian book

Prabhupada challenged that. He said that when the Bhagavad-gita says dehino ‘smin yatha dehe, kaumaram yauvanam jara, that we go from the childhood to youth to old age, is this only for the Krishna devotees, only for the Hindus? Only they are going from childhood to youth to old age? What about the Christians, the Muslims? What about the atheists? The dogs. They don’t go from childhood to youth to old age. Bhagavad-gita’s not a sectarian book. This is the science of the self. This is the science of spiritual realization. Everyone is going from childhood to youth to old age. It’s not a sectarian instruction. This is telling what is the spirit, what is the soul, in very definitive, systematic, scientific, exacting words, you see.

Song of God

Unfortunately there is no institution in the modern society to train anybody about anything beyond the body or the gross thoughts. You want to find out about the body they have medical colleges, but if you want to find about the living force which is taking the body grow there is no place to study. This Krishna Consciousness movement is actually the place for those post graduate students who would like to study the science of self. “Who am I? Where I come from? Where I am going to? What is life? The reason why we refer to this book… This is the Bhagavad-gita. Bhagavad-gita means the song of God. Gita means song, Bhagavata means God. God not in the ordinary sense but bhaga means all opulences.

Going back to spiritual world

Any way this Bhagavad-gita teaches us how this world works and how we can get out of it. Of course, by doing good karmas you can get higher birth. You can go to swarga. But when your good karma runs out, you have to come here. Lord Caitanya, He has given us a special blessing. If we chant Hare Krsna and follow His instructions, we can leave this material world and go back to the spiritual world.

We were reading Bhagavad-gita and Bhagavatam to a pregnant woman mother. Just two weeks before her delivery she lost her baby because of strangling of cord. People expect blessings for the baby and read. How to understand such unfortunate incidents?

Guru maharaj: A child hears from the seventh month onwards. So maybe the child by hearing the Bhagavad-gita was already liberated! So why take birth? So much maya after you are born! Maybe the child was allowed to go back to Godhead right away. The child had prasadam in the mother’s stomach and heard Bhagavad-gita. Maybe that this child just went back to Godhead.

Secret of Working

“The Gita describes that one should work without attachment to result, work without attachments to the fruits so that is only possible when one works to please Krishna. The qualities are spiritual when they do not have connection with material sense gratification. This is the secret of working.”
